Assigned to the Force’s Sick Bay, Officer Oliver now continues his service with distinction, bringing both skill and compassion to the care of his fellow servicemen. His accomplishment is a proud moment for the Brigade and a shining example of resilience and excellence.

We proudly recognize Lt. Dorsett for his outstanding accomplishments during this Brigade year. His publication, Life through Poetry, beautifully captures the power of words and creativity. In addition, his recognition by the Bahamas Alliance for National Development stands as a testament to his dedication, talent, and impact on our community. Lt. Dorsett’s contributions inspire us all, reminding us that leadership is not only about service but also about sharing one’s gifts to uplift others. We celebrate his success and look forward to the continued influence of his work.
Boys' Brigade Fun Day – New Providence Battalion
On Saturday, February 21, 2028, the New Providence Battalion of the Boys' Brigade hosted its annual Fun Day at Mashamba, off Bacardi Road. From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., boys from companies across New Providence gathered for a full day of fellowship, friendly competition, and brotherly love.
Highlights of the Day

Games & Activities: The grounds were alive with excitement as boys enjoyed bouncing castles, tug-of-war, giant Jenga, and a variety of competitive events designed to build teamwork and camaraderie.

Fellowship: The event brought together members from different companies, strengthening bonds and fostering unity within the Battalion.

Meals: Participants were treated to a hearty breakfast and a satisfying lunch, which they enjoyed together in a spirit of community.

The Fun Day was more than just games—it was a celebration of the values at the heart of the Boys' Brigade: friendship, discipline, and service. By coming together in joy and fellowship, the boys not only had fun but also deepened their sense of belonging to the wider Brigade family.
New Providence Battalion Church Service
St. John's Native Baptist Church
On Sunday, February 9, 2026, the New Providence Battalion held its annual church service at St. John's Native Baptist Church, the proud home of the 14th Company of the Boys’ Brigade. The sanctuary was filled with members of the Battalion, brigade officers, families, and supporters who gathered in worship and fellowship. The occasion was both a celebration of tradition and a reminder of the Battalion’s commitment to God, country, and the development of youth. The atmosphere was uplifting and inspiring, leaving all in attendance encouraged to continue living out their faith through service.

Chayse continues to shine as a remarkable example of resilience, creativity, and community spirit. This year, he was proudly featured in Colina Insurance’s Autism Awareness Month calendar under the campaign Different Minds. One Community. Autism. — a powerful initiative that celebrates diversity and inclusion. His recognition by the Bahamas Literary Association further underscores the strides he has made in personal growth and creative expression. Chayse himself attributes much of his success to his involvement in the Boys’ Brigade, where he is an active member of the band. Through this fellowship, he has cultivated discipline, teamwork, and confidence, all of which have shaped his journey. Chayse’s story is a testament to how community support, artistic talent, and personal determination can come together to inspire others. He stands as a role model for young people across the nation, showing that with encouragement and opportunity, every individual can thrive and make a lasting impact.
23RD CO. HOSTED FUN RUN & WALK-A-THON IN HONOUR

In November 2025, the 23rd Company hosted its annual Fun Run and Walk‑a‑thon in honor of the late Constable Henry Malcolm Curry III, an esteemed alumnus of the 23rd BB Company and son of Captain Henry Curry II.
BB PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL YOUTH MARCH 2026
Traditionally held in October during National Youth Month, the parade in New Providence was rescheduled to November 2nd due to inclement weather. This annual event remains a cornerstone of our calendar, and our continued participation ensures visibility while strengthening our relationship with the Ministry of Youth.
FREE SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES FOR BOYS
In further recognition of Boys’ Brigade Month, the National Council organized a free self‑defense course which extended over a period of more than eight weeks. The program was facilitated by Mr. Gamal Newry, and provided participants with practical skills to enhance personal safety.
49TH CO. HOSTS DANGEROUS DRUGS SYMPOSIUM
On 31st October, the 49th Company successfully hosted a Dangerous Drugs Symposium, contributing to ongoing efforts in public education and awareness. The event saw Insp. Davis and K-9 Joker of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Grand Bahama K-9 unit demonstrate some of their drug interdiction tactics.

49th Company Celebrates Promotions and Prayer at Freeport Bible Church
On Sunday October 5, 2025, the 49th Bahamas Company of the Boys’ Brigade gathered for a special worship service at Freeport Bible Church, joined by their parents and supporters. Pastor Kyle Maycock led a heartfelt prayer over the Company and their families, affirming the Brigade’s mission to build character and faith in young men.
During the service, two senior officers were officially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant:

BB PARENTS’ MEET & GREET @ MASHAMBA,
On October 4th, the National Council hosted a Parents’ Meet and Greet at Mashamba, located on Bacardi Road. This gathering provided parents and guardians with the opportunity to connect with the national leaders of the organization, while also enjoying fellowship, fun prizes, and an atmosphere of camaraderie.
BB SUPPORTS 40TH INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP - “TURN THE TIDE ON TRASH”
The Boys’ Brigade proudly joined hands with communities across the globe in support of the 40th International Coastal Cleanup, championing the theme “Turn the Tide on Trash.” This initiative highlights the Brigade’s commitment to environmental stewardship, civic responsibility, and the preservation of our nation’s natural beauty.
Through active participation, members demonstrated that service extends beyond the walls of the organization and into the wider community. By removing debris from our coastlines, they not only protected marine life but also reinforced the values of discipline, teamwork, and care for creation.
The Brigade’s involvement in this milestone cleanup reflects its ongoing mission to nurture young people into responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society. Together, we affirm that small actions can create lasting change, and that united efforts truly can turn the tide on trash.
Congratulations to VP of Operations, Force Petty Officer Dwayne Rolle who was awarded the RBDF Medal for Distinguished Service.
The Governor General of The Bahamas, Her Excellency Dame Cynthia A. Pratt, presented Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) awards and decorations, including the Defence Force Distinguished Service Award (which can also be referred to as the Distinguished Service Decoration), on September 26, 2025, at Government House in Nassau. Medal recipient, Lt. Dwayne Rolle, is an officer at the 30th Company of Boys' Brigade (Abundant Life Bible Church) and currently serves as V.P. of Operations. May God continue to bless him!

Orange Alert Day
On September 10, 2025, we formally acknowledged and promoted suicide prevention by participating in Orange Alert Day. This observance was marked through a coordinated campaign on our official social media platforms and website, where we published awareness messages, supportive resources, and information encouraging individuals to seek help when needed. The initiative enhanced community engagement, increased visibility of suicide prevention efforts, and demonstrates our organizational commitment to mental health advocacy.

Re-installation of 15th Bahamas Company
On Sunday, August 3, 2025, the 15th Company of the Boys’ Brigade was officially re-established at Bethel Baptist Church under the dynamic new leadership of Captain James Simmons. The momentous occasion coincided with the church’s 235th anniversary — a powerful celebration of faith, heritage, and renewed commitment to youth mentorship and community service.

On Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Division of Youth celebrated the successful completion of the National Youth Leaders Certification Program with 50 outstanding participants. Graduates enjoyed an inspiring evening as they reflected on their transformative sixteen-week journey. The event featured powerful leadership insights from keynote speakers, Commissioner of Police Shanta E. Knowles and Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Mario Bowleg, who encouraged the graduates as they prepare to embark on their next chapter as leaders.
President Sealy also received the Patty Michelle Miller Youth Award for community involvement.

The New Providence Battalion held its first church service at New Destiny Baptist Cathedral, a momentous occasion that also honored the 50th anniversary of the Bahamas Company, as well as the 21st anniversary of Capt. Godfrey Scott's service. Through the years, God has remained faithful, and we continue to be grateful for His unwavering blessings. May His favor shine upon us all.

Corporal Kevin Jonathan Pierre from 1st Bahamas Company received honors this summer for his basketball and academic achievements while on his trip to Turks and Caicos. He then traveled to Europe for a tournament tour and is doing well. To God Be the Glory great things he has done.

Proceeds from the walk will go towards the construction of the National Brigade Headquarters on Dolphin Drive.

On Tuesday July 2, 2024, executive members of the Boys' Brigade Bahamas National Council paid a courtesy call to the Governor General, Dame Cynthia Pratt ON GCMG CB CD JP. In attendance were Captain Darius Sealy (National President), Captian Henry Curry II (New Providence Battalion Chairman), and Lieutenant Valerie Butler (National Secretary).

On Sunday, June 30th, 2024, the 1st Bahamas Company at Grants Town Wesley Methodist Church celebrated 81 years of service in the Boys Brigade. 1st Company is led by Captain Jamicko Forde assisted by Lt. Ricardo McQueen and Lt. Lavell Watson.

On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, Captain Eric Smith and his team hosted a rededication service at Zion Baptist Church or Shirley Street. The service also doubled as a promotion exercise for Non-Commissioned Officers in the Company.
14th Bahmas Company Walkabout
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the 14th Company (Zion Baptist) Church hosted a community walkabout in the Centreville constituency visitng homes in the Masons Addition and McCollough Corner area. The company was led by Captain Eric Smith accompanied by Lieutenants Phil Dorsett and Sherlyn Hall.
Enrollment Service of the Uriah McPhee Primary School Unit of Boys' Brigade
On May 2, 2024, the Boys' Brigade Company at Uriah McPhee Primary School (Kemp Road) was officially installed led by Captain Henry Curry II of the 23rd Company (St. Barnabas). Some thirty-plus boys from the school were enrolled and cheered on by BB officers, school administrators, and proud parents.
